Vtg Japanese Decorative Hina Doll for Girls' Festival
This vintage Japanese daruma kimono Hina doll is wearing a layered red kimono. The doll is wrapped in a purple and gold kimono. This type of dolls is called daruma dolls. It is weighted at the bottom so that the doll stays up.
The Hinamatsuri (Doll's Festival) in Japan is a traditional event celebrated on March 3rd every year, primarily to wish for the healthy growth and happiness of girls. Hina dolls are an essential part of Hinamatsuri and are prominently displayed in homes during the festival.
