Vtg Japanese Brushed Lacquered Wooden Tansu Storage Chest
This is a vintage Japanese storage chest, also called tansu. A rich brown color with a clear brushed lacquer coat, this small chest has two half-sized drawers and one full-sized drawer with simple metal handles and a beautiful makie picture of kikyo (bellflower/balloon flower) in red, orange, and gold with green leaves. The insides of the drawers are unlined. This beautiful tansu chest can be used for storing sewing supplies, jewelry, or other trinkets.
