Vtg Japanese Ceramic Teapot
This is a vintage Japanese ceramic teapot, or kyusu. It s a dark gray color glaze with a brown splash accent. The handle it at curves over the top and is made of dark brown dried vines woven together. It has a small spout for smooth pouring.
Kyusu teapots come in a few shapes, the most common being ones with a handle crafted into the side. They are smaller than western teapots as Japanese tea is typically served in smaller quantities and often steeped multiple times in one service.
