Vintage Japanese Ceramic Teapot Hohin
This is a vintage Japanese Agano ware ceramic teapot without a handle, hohin, from Fukuoka. Hohin has no handle, so it is usually used for brewing Gyokuro and high-grade Sencha, which need warm, not very hot water. This type of cup/bowl is a part of a traditional Senchado tea set.
This particular pot has green glaze with black mottles. The side glaze is thick and pools below the spout. There is a strainer on the inside wall of the pot.
