Vintage Japanese Tokoname ware Ceramic Decorative Plate
This is a vintage Japanese decorative ceramic plate Gakuzara. This Tokoname ware large plate is reddish brown with a detailed image of the Buddhist image Kannon on wild boars. This plate comes with the original wooden box. A resin stand isn't included, though it's in the first photo.
Gakuzara are mainly used for general display, hanging on the wall or placing on a chest like a frame, Gaku.
We got this item at an antique auction in Tajimi in Gifu, Japan.
