Japanese Ukiyoe Woodblock Print Art
This Japanese ukiyo-e is a woodblock print by Toshusai Sharaku featuring two kabuki actors in character. The characters are women. This piece is titled 'Bando Zenji as Ozasa, the Wife of Washizuka Kandayu; Iwai Kiyotaro as Fujinami, the Wife of Sagisaka Sanai'. The print is placed on a thick paper that folds in two with an opening on the top. There is a label with explanations in English on the inside. This piece is an authentic woodblock print, but it is a reprint, not a first edition.
