Japanese Pair Buddhist Altar Fitting Hanging Lantern Butsugu w/Box
This is a vintage Japanese Buddhist brass hanging lantern, or rinto, made to be hung in Buddhist altars (butsugu). It is a bright brass gold color with detailed chrysanthemum floral motifs throughout. They come with electric lights (not attached) that require rewiring. They can also be used with candles or other non-wire lights.
Rinto is a brass lantern used to light up the inside of a Buddhist altar with candles, and can sometimes be made electric. It is also a beautiful decorative item on its own.
