This is a large vintage Japanese plaster noh mask (noh-men) decoration. This character is the face of an angry ogre (tsuina oni). Oni, in general, are popular characters in Japanese folklore that typically represent misfortune, disaster, and disease. As such, these characters are often chased away or thrown out (much like during the Japanese holiday Setsubun). This mask has a green cord at the back for hanging. It can be used for all kinds of home and office decor.
