Vintage Japanese Paper Mache Noh Mask
This is a vintage Japanese paper mache noh mask (noh-men). It features the face of a man named Hyottoko, who has a twisted, puckered mouth off to one side and a scarf tied around his head. Hyottoko is said to be a comical character and is often paired with Okame, the female equivalent. In many performances, Hyottoko plays the role of a clown. The mask can be used for all kinds of home and office decor.
