Vtg Japanese Lacquerware Wood Box Bento Kashiki

This is a vintage Japanese lacquered bento lunch box called jubako. It is one-tier and caramel brown, true to the shunkei-nuri style of lacquerware. It can also be used as a Kashiki, a bowl or container that holds sweets for Japanese tea ceremonies. The box has kanji written on the sides and the lid.

  • Good condition. Light scratches. Slight, vague stains on the lid backside. Slight warp on the lid. Wear and tear due to age. Please see the photos.
