 Japanese Wooden Kokeshi Doll

This vintage Japanese wooden doll is a souvenir from Hakone (Kanagawa prefecture). It features a joyful yakkou-san, a samurai servant. The doll is wearing a red and blue kimono, holds a tall accessory in one head and appears to be dancing. The doll is attached to a semicircle stand. This type of kokeshi doll is used for decorative purposes.
