Vintage Japanese Wooden Storage Box
Wooden boxes are a standard method of safely keeping and storing delicate pottery, vases, and other ceramic, clay, and glass items in Japan. In addition to pottery, they are widely used for many traditional Japanese crafts, including kimono accessories, wrapping cloths, chopsticks, commemorative gifts, etc, and even food.
This lidded box is made of wood and has a natural wood color. It has five differently sized compartments and a sliding lid on the front. This box was originally used to store a set of pottery intended to serve kaiseki cuisine. It is excellent for general storage, DIY, or decoration.
