Vintage Japanese Folding Fan Sensu
This is a traditional Japanese folding fan called sensu. You can use this when it's hot or as decoration. This small decorative fan is a simple metallic gold foil paper on one side with no designs. The back is silver. The main frame is natural bamboo and the end pieces are made of white resin and contain painted shochikubai (pine, plum, bamboo) images in gold. It has a bright red string tied to the bottom. This is made for formal or ceremonial occasions, such as weddings, and carried by women. The fan is small and also an excellent addition to tea ceremony sets or for small displays.
