Antique Japanese Porcelain Plate Sara
This is an antique Japanese small bowl or side plate (Kozara). There is a blue Sometsuke of flower design in the middle of the plate. The center of the flower has a mark that looks like yin and yang. Little distortion is seen in the plate. Because it was fired with firewood instead of gas or electricity as it is today, the temperature was not stable and easy to warp. It's a good plate to put small food or sweets such as cakes. There are Goma (sesame) spots and dust marks. The traces of sesame and dust are the places where the ash fell when it was fired in the kiln.
