Japanese Buddhist Bronze Water/Tea Offering Cup
This is a vintage Japanese Buddhist bronze water/tea offering cup (chaki) commonly used in Buddhist altars. It is a unique shape that consists of a bronze platform base, a bronze cup and a cup insert made of metal. There is an engraved gold crane on the front side. The golden crane is the Nichiren Shoshu sect mon symbol. The lid is missing.
