Vtg Japanese Boys' Day Battle Hat Display
This is a vintage Japanese battle hat display set out during Boys' Day (also known as Children's Day). It a gold turtle shell shape with a cushion on the inside and silk fabric decorative material adorning the outside. It is displayed on a black lacquered wooden stand which then rests upon a base made of the same lacquered wood and gold metal embellishments. The base piece has a purple and gold chrysanthemum silk top side. It also comes with a small staff that rests across the top of the main stand with white and dark blue silk cord and tassels.
Gogatsu-Ningyo (May dolls) are amulets wishing for the health and growth of children that are displayed during the Boys' Festival. Other items such as armor decorations, helmet decorations, and warrior dolls (warlords) are also popular.

- Good condition considering its age. Gold paint on hat cracking. Some wear on fabric on base. Light stains on white silk decorations. Wear and tear due to age. Please see the photos.
