Vintage Japanese Lacquered Bento Lunch Box 

This is a Japanese vintage lacquered bento lunch box, or jubako. A caramel brown in the Hida Shunkei style that is simple with no added designs, it has three tiers, the bottom being attached to the frame. It has a handle for easy carrying. While it can be used for small meals, it can also be used as a sweets container, or kashiki for sencha and tea ceremonies. It comes with a small folded pamphlet about the history of Shunkei lacquerware.
