Antique Edo Era Japanese Iron Abumi Stirrups

This is a pair of antique Edo period tsubo abumi stirrups. Often used as part of ceremonial horse tack for samurai or other noble or high-ranking officials or leaders, these stirrups are made of heavy cast iron and have wooden slats in the foot holds for grip. Note: This is not a matching pair, but are of similar style and design. One has plain wood while the other has red lacquered wood. Each weighs slightly different as well.

• Good condition considering its age. Rust. Wood slats have cracks. Red lacquer chipped/cracking. Wear and tear due to age. Please see the photos.
