 Japanese Wooden Kokeshi Doll Figurine

This vintage Japanese wooden kokeshi doll figurine represents an ama diver sitting on real shells. Ama divers are Japanese divers, mostly women, famous for collecting pearls. This particular figurine shows the diver in traditional clothing with a wood bucket with pearls inside it on her right. The base is made of two real shells.
