This is a vintage Japanese Buddhist brass incense burner (koro) commonly used in Buddhist altars. It is round cup shape with a brown color and three small legs, perfect for home altars. It is used for burning incense powder or sticks. Burning incense is a means of purifying the body of the worshiper.
