Details: This is a vintage Japanese green tea bowl or Chawan from Japan. This ceramic green tea bowl has a unique black iron glaze. The kanji on the foot of this bowl is the potters' name or signature. In the lid of the box has a kanji signature which can be read ''Tessaiyu'' meaning an iron glaze, ''Chawan'' a Green tea bowl and name of the potter although we are unable to make that out. Tea bowls are popular in Japan and they used for tea ceremony. Pick up this lovely Japanese Tea bowl today.
Condition: Good condition. Wooden box lid is warped slightly. Please see the photos. Wear and tear due to the age.
