Vintage Japanese Lacquered Wooden Square Plate

This item is a vintage Japanese lacquered wooden square plate. It is a glossy reddish-brown lacquer with a simple triangular carved pattern.
This lightweight round plate is the ideal size for serving small food and desserts. This type of plate, called Meimeizara, is also used during tea ceremonies for wagashi sweets. It is perfect for decoration as well as for entertaining.
