Japanese Buddhist Altar Fitting Hanging Lantern Toro Pair
This is a vintage pair of Japanese Buddhist altar hanging lantern, or Tsurushi (Tsuri) Toro. Tsurushi-toro is a type of lantern that hangs from the ceiling of a Buddhist altar to illuminate what is inside. Made of a gorgeous thin layers of metal, it features a chrysanthemum design. There is a little viewing door that can open. It is lined with washi paper on the inside. They are electric lights connected via wire with a small lightbulb. These can easily be re-wired/fitted and used for other decorative lighting. It comes with two metal hangers.
