Details: Listed here is a glass photo negative from Late Meiji or early Taisho era C1900. These two photo shows a Japanese woman wearing kimono taken under the tree, and a Japanese man sitting on a wooden deck outside the temple. The kanji on the envelope reads Kobayashi Taiyodo a photoshop name in Nagoya City Japan. All our negatives are originals (not reprints) obtained from within Japan usually through estate sales or auctions. Most are from Central Japan area but some come from other areas. These photos give you a chance to peer into the life of people over 100 years ago in a land that is incredibly different from your own. Still today, I can see the impact these times had on today's Japanese. This is an incredibly special experience.
