Vintage Japanese Wooden Storage Box 

Wooden boxes are a common method of safely keeping and storing delicate pottery, vases, and other ceramic, clay, and glass items in Japan. In addition to pottery, they are also widely used for a plethora of other traditional Japanese crafts, including kimono accessories, wrapping cloths, chopsticks, commemorative gifts, etc, and even food. 

This lidded wooden box is made for a pair of sake bottles, choshi. The inside is separated into two compartments. It has a navy blue cord that ties it all together. It is made from strong wood and is excellent for general storage, DIY, or decoration.
