Vintage Japanese Lacquer Serving Tray w/Box

This is a vintage Japanese lacquered wood serving tray, or obon. It has a wide oblong shape with one built-in handle on each side. This large coffee tray has a beautiful carmine red color on the top and is black on the bottom. It is used for serving cups and sweets during coffee or tea breaks. It also makes a lovely decorative item.
The original box is included.
