Vintage Japanese Wooden Lacquered Shunkei-Nuri Tray Obon 

This is a Japanese vintage wooden lacquered Shunkei-Nuri tray, Obon. It is round and lightweight. Shunkei-Nuri is one of many techniques for applying lacquer coating. The wooden base is colored yellow or red, and clear lacquer is applied to make the wood grain visible.
