Japanese Brushed Lacquered Wooden Tansu Storage Chest

This is a Japanese storage chest, also called tansu. Dark brown and medium brown colors with a clear brushed lacquer coat on the drawers, this small chest has four different-sized drawers with decorative metal hardware. The insides of the drawers are unlined. This item was likely once attached to something else such as a sewing table or desk. This beautiful tansu chest can be used for storing sewing supplies, jewelry, or other trinkets.
