Vintage Japanese Wooden Storage Box 

Wooden boxes are a common method of safely keeping and storing delicate pottery, vases, and other ceramic, clay, and glass items in Japan. In addition to pottery, they are also widely used for a plethora of other traditional Japanese crafts, including kimono accessories, wrapping cloths, chopsticks, commemorative gifts, etc, and even food. 

This lidded wooden box is made for a tea ceremony set. The inside is separated into 3 compartments. The lid slides on the front and features some inscriptions. Please note that the part on the right side to slide the lid in is broken. It is made from strong wood and is excellent for general storage, DIY, or decoration.

• Good condition considering age. Part of the box where the lid slides in is broken and missing (right side only). Lid bent. Sticker mark on the right side of box. Some marks. Wear and tear due to age. Please see the photos carefully.
