Vintage Japanese Wooden Storage Box 

Wooden boxes are a standard method of safely keeping and storing delicate pottery, vases, and other ceramic, clay, and glass items in Japan. In addition to pottery, they are also widely used for a plethora of other traditional Japanese crafts, including kimono accessories, wrapping cloths, chopsticks, commemorative gifts, etc, and even food. 

This long, lidded box is made of wood and has a dark brown color. It has strings to secure the lid. It is very long and possibly used to store a boxed kakejiku scroll. It is excellent for general storage, DIY, or decoration.
