Vintage Japanese Wooden Storage Box Carry Crate

Wooden boxes are a common method of safely keeping and storing delicate pottery, vases, and other ceramic, clay, and glass items in Japan. In addition to pottery, they are also widely used for a plethora of other traditional Japanese crafts including kimono accessories, wrapping cloths, chopsticks, commemorative gifts, etc. 

This is an antique lid-less wooden storage box or crate. Made with slats of wood, it has simple handles on the sides for easy carrying. It is unknown what this crate was used for industrial purposes, commerce, or gardening. It can also be used for general storage of trinkets or use for display or other crafts/projects.
