Japanese Wooden Haribako Sewing Chest

This is a Japanese sewing box, also called haribako. In an accordion style, this sewing chest has two lidded compartments that extend outward and one large compartment on the bottom. The outside is stained a medium brown with brushed clear lacquer and the inside is lined with velvety red fabric. It has one large stationary handle. This beautiful tansu chest can be used for storing sewing supplies, jewelry, or other trinkets.
