Vintage Japanese Vermilion Ink Pad 

This is a vintage Japanese vermilion ink pad with a lid. This type of ink is used for Hanko or Inkan, the Japanese seals. The container has a rounded shape made of brass. The traditional Japanese design consisting of bamboo, pine tree, plum blossom (shochikubai) is on the lid in a stunning relief. It is signed on the bottom, which is likely a name of the shop.
