Vintage Japanese Water-Ripple Pattern Serving Tray

This is a Japanese vintage serving tray, or Obon. This black small serving tray is decorated with the water-ripple pattern (ryusui) in a gold color. On the back of the tray, there is a red inscription. This tray comes with a storage box. Kanji on the box: 中村勘九郎 Nakamura Kankuro, a Japanese kabuki actor.

Obon (serving trays) are typically used for serving drinks and snacks to guests in one’s home, business, etc. They provide both function and beautiful decor.
