Vintage Japanese Tea Ceremony Pouch
This is a vintage Japanese pouch made to store and carry tea ceremony utensils, or sukiyabukuro. This flat, lightweight silk fabric bag has a shining dark green, orange, gold, and white geometric floral design, a light gold fabric lined inside, and a metal button clasp. Some items often found in this type of bag include: kashikiri and youji (small flat dull knife-like item used to eat sweets during tea ceremony and toothpicks), fukusa (typically red or purple cloth, chakin (white cloth used for wiping tea bowls), etc.
