Vtg Japanese Art-board Shikishi

This is a vintage Japanese Shikishi paper (Artboard) painted cherry blossom and a tower of twin arch 138. There are three basic types of shikishi paper—calligraphy (poem, haiku) only, calligraphy plus pictures, and pictures only. Since the Heian period, people have been writing waka and haiku on Shikishi paper (various sizes), but in the Meiji period, they started using paper of the current size. Recently, Shikishi paper is being used as paper to write autographs of celebrities.
