Japanese Shell Kokeshi Doll

This vintage Japanese shell kokeshi figurine represents a turtle family on a rock; five baby turtles and their mother or father. Cowrie shells are used as their heads, impet shells are for the shell. A larger spiral shell is used as a rock and has an inscription.
