Vintage Japanese School Students Road Project Photograph

This is an original vintage Showa Era daily life photograph of a class of junior high age students preparing to do some community road/field work. The boys hold hoes for tilling. Even in modern Japan, school, especially in rural communities, often have special events for the students to learn skills and traditional culture and also to give back to the community with things such as rice planting, clean-up, etc.
