Vintage Japanese Rubber Stamp

This is a Japanese vintage rubber stamp attached to a sponge like base. The stamp represents a sea bream. Called tai or madai in Japanese, this fish is thought to bring luck and is essential to special occasions. This stamp can be used as it or you can remove the rubber to place it on another base.

• Good condition. Sponge base has lost squishiness. Crumbly. Wear and tear due to age. Please see the photos.
• Acquired at the famous Osu antique market in Nagoya, Japan
