Japanese Buddhist Fabric Bag for Prayer Beads and Sutra Book

This is a Japanese vintage handmade fabric bag for prayer beads juzu, a sutrabook, and a silk cloth fukusa.  It is used to carry items used in memorial services, such as funerals.  It is made of a deep navy blue fabric with an embroidery-rhombus pattern called Hishi-monyo on the front. Its back is made of plain purple fabric. It has a gold crest at the center. This bag has a snap button to keep it closed.
