Vintage Japanese Porcelain Bell Dorei 

This is a vintage Japanese porcelain bell, or dorei. This bell is made of kutani ware porcelain and is shaped like a classic bell in white with painted red and white plum blossoms on a branch. It has a braided light pink silk cord tied at the top and a small white clay ball inside. 
Dorei bells have a long history and have been used in festivals and ceremonies since the Jomon period (about 13000 to 2300 years ago) when they were said to have the power to ward off evil spirits.

• Good condition considering age. Some scuff marks and discoloration. Wear and tear due to age. Please see the photos carefully.
