Vintage Japanese Paper and Bamboo Uchiwa Fan

This is a vintage Japanese paper fan, or uchiwa. Uchiwa is a traditional fan tool typically made of wood or bamboo and paper in a flat paddle-like shape. It is smaller than the typical size with a tall narrow shape and features a red lotus flower with leaves and gold specks over a brown background. The paper has a glossy clear coat over the washi paper. The frame is bamboo and the handle has been painted black.

• Good condition considering age. Some holes in washi paper front. Thin strip on bamboo frame broken. Wear and tear due to age. Please see the photos.
