Vtg Japanese Lacquerware Bento Box Jubako

This is a set of two Japanese vintage lacquered wooden five-tier lunch boxes (Jubako). The boxes are brown on the outside, red on the inside, and black with a red character on the bottom. Each tier has two compartments to separate the food. These two lunch boxes come in a  wooden lacquer-brushed storage box. The storage box has a traditional design where the box is opened from the front thanks to a panel that slides up completely. The front panel has a character painted on it. It has a metal handle to facilitate transport and a hole at the back to help when pulling the lunch boxes out.

• Approx. 23 cm long x 20.3 cm wide x 28.5 cm tall. Five-tier box with lid (each) approx. 19.8 cm long x  9.1 cm wide x 22.8 cm tall. 
• Good condition. Lunch box: marks, scratches, chips, dents, and lacquer missing in some places. Storage box: marks, scratches, dents, chips, bug damages on the front bottom, the upper right and bottom right back, handle broken and rusted. Wear and tear due to age. Please see the photos.
