Vintage Japanese Wooden Snack Bowl

This is a Japanese vintage lidded snack bowl, or kashiki. This brown bowl is handcrafted from a piece of solid wood and features a wood grain beneath a glossy translucent lacquer. It is cased in a cardboard box. 
Kashiki/kashibachi are typically used for serving snacks, such as senbei crackers or sweets, to guests in one’s home, business, etc. It is also commonly used in tea ceremonies to serve and display traditional sweets. It can also be used for multipurpose functions.
