Vintage Japanese Wooden Snack Bowl

This is a traditional Japanese vintage snack bowl, or kashiki. This thick bowl is black on the outside and red on the inside. It has a round interior, straight upper walls, an angled lower body, and a narrow foot. 
Kashiki is typically used for serving snacks, such as senbei crackers or sweets, to guests in one’s home, office, or other establishments. It is also commonly used in tea ceremonies to serve and display traditionalsweets. It can also be used for multipurpose functions such as holding fruit.
