Vintage Japanese Lacquered Bamboo Drink Saucers

This is a five-piece set of vintage Japanese lacquered woven bamboo drink saucers/coasters, or chataku. A rich dark brown, this combination of woven bamboo and lacquer is called rantai shikki. It has an indentation at the center to keep a cup from slipping off.
