Vintage Japanese Lacquered Wooden Serving Tray, Obon w/Box

This is a vintage lacquered wood serving tray, or obon. It is perfectly square with tall sides. It is coated in black and brown lacquer with a gold edge.  The tray features gold and silver makie folding fans with chrysanthemums, cherry blossoms, and cranes for a design. It comes with the original paper box.
Obon (serving trays) are typically used for serving drinks and snacks to guests in one’s home, business, etc. They provide both function and beautiful decor.

• Okay condition considering age. Cracks in lacquer on top and bottom surfaces particularly in and near the corners. Box has torn corners and very fragile. Wear and tear due to age. Please see the photos.
