Japanese Vintage Porcelain Sake Cup

This is a vintage Japanese Kutani porcelain sake cup. This particular type of cup is called tsubomi or “bud type” due to its resemblance to a flower bud. In terms of size, it is also called ochoko. It is red on the outside, featuring a gold traditional shippo pattern with vines. The inside is shining gold and has a red military star with the kanji for “Memorial”. This was likely given to a serviceman as a memorial gift (sake cups are a popular novelty for these events).
