Japanese Gold Red Ink Pad Case 

This is a vintage Japanese vermilion ink pad with a lid. This type of ink is used for Hanko or Inkan, the Japanese seals. The metal container is 24 gold plated. The lid has a Ho-Oh bird relief (a popular Buddhist motif).  This case comes with a matching clam shell style box. There are Kanji on the box. Inside of the box is upholstered.
