Vtg Japanese Clay Cow Zodiac Decoration

This is a vintage Japanese clay figurine of a cow. It is lightweight and is painted a matte white color. It is a simplistic style with minimal details. There are green felt patches on the bottom to protect surfaces and a removable slotted rubber stopper on the belly.
Cow, or ushi, is one of the twelve signs of Japanese Zodiac (Junishi). There is a sign for each year and a full cycle is repeated after 12 years. It is common to display the year’s sign in the entrance or in the living room in Japan.
